Why This Training Matters

One in five people do not have children, and that number may grow. Many of your current clients may be childless, childfree, or actively wrestling with the decision. Professional development on parenthood is widely available, yet training on the experience of not becoming a parent is not. Clinicians who complete this training are better equipped to hold the grief, the complexity, and the full humanity of this population without defaulting to pronatalist assumptions.

Washington State Roles and Boundaries Continuing Education Requirement

Washington State now requires licensed mental health providers to complete training in roles, boundaries, and ethics for CE renewal. Many clinicians are looking for an approved course that is affordable and available now. My course, Clients Without Children: Roles, Boundaries, and Bias, meets the Washington State roles and boundaries requirement for 2.0 CE credits at $25. It is self-paced and available online nationwide.

Most roles and boundaries trainings use generic scenarios. This one is built around a real and underserved clinical population, which means you fulfill your renewal requirement while gaining skills you can use immediately.

What Clinicians Are Saying

Participants have described these trainings as filling a significant gap in clinical education, praising the quality of research, the usefulness of case studies, and the depth of reflective questions. One clinician noted that this is "very overdue" and that the training gave them concrete tools to bring directly into practice. Another highlighted the connection between this work and broader conversations about existential concerns and climate anxiety influencing clients' decisions about parenthood.
